Monday mornings can be hectic and stressful as your try to get up early, rush out the door and fight your way through traffic to get to work on time. Not to mention, dropping off the dry cleaning, preparing healthy meals for the week, driving your kids to their various activities and the list goes on!
There are so many expectations we set for Mondays that they can be extremely overwhelming!
We want to start the day early, eat healthy, go to the gym, prepare a presentation at work, be super mom, and finish a million different tasks!
We want it all but how do we achieve it without burning ourselves out?
You need to take care of YOU first and foremost. You are hardly accomplishing any task when you are tired, run down, stressed out and totally fried!
To be your best, you need to give your body the nourishment and fuel that it needs. A good night’s rest is ideal (but not always possible) as well as staying hydrated, so be sure to get in those 8 glasses per day.
You also need to eat right. Try starting your morning with this super simple and delicious detox juice. It will not only provide a million benefits for your health but make you feel vibrant, energized and ready to take on the world!
What you need and why….
Spinach – Need a sense of calm? Spinach produces a calming effect on our bodies. This is due to the folate found in leafy greens. It produces dopamine which is a pleasure-inducing brain chemical.
Blueberries – Blueberries are excellent at helping your body combat stress due to the antioxidants and phytonutrients they contain. They also help maintain strong bones, lower blood pressure, fight heart disease, prevent cancer, improve your mental health, aid in digestion and much more!!! You don’t want to skip a day without these in your diet.
Cucumber – Cucumbers combat inflammation and contain a flavonoid antioxidant that helps reduce swelling, called quercetin. They also flush out toxins from the body, reduce cholesterol, help in digestion, soothe muscle and joint pain and aid in weight loss.
Grapefruit – A great source of vitamin C and rich in the antioxidant lycopene. Grapefruits are high in fiber and low calorie. They help protect against disease and increase our body’s metabolic rate. They help us feel full and fight fatigue, constipation and indigestion, to name a few!
Moringa Oleifera – You have probably already heard of the amazing health benefits provided by the Moringa tree. I can’t even put into words how good it is for you so here is a graphic to help…
In a blender mix 1/2 cup blueberries, 1 cup spinach, 1/2 cup sliced cucumber, 1/4 grapefruit and moringa with water and ice. Blend and ENJOY!!!
