Open up to Possibilities

You can learn so much through the eyes of youth.

I had the opportunity to present Mindset and Energy workshops at a youth conference on the weekend. You never know how people will react to something different and new, especially with 12 to 15 year olds. I love seeing their questioning and uncertain faces change as I open their minds to new things and possibilities. Mindset and energy isn't something they necessarily think about everyday or have perhaps ever thought about in their life. As I take them through exercises and demonstrate how connected we ALL are through our energy and mindset, their little faces brighten, they ask questions and become softer, more at ease, more open.

We, as adults, can learn so much from the youth around us. Their closed minds open easily when given information, just outside of their belief or comfort zone. They are still extremely curious and stretch to understand and let in something different, something out of the norm. Seeing the different personalities open up is inspiring. The "too cool" athlete who ends up laughing, easing into the fun of the experience. The self conscience shy girl who is uncertain in her own skin. She steps up and calms when asked to help demonstrate, proudly seeing everyone's surprise at how "that actually worked"! The "class clown" who tries to question (in a good way) everything and settles as he realizes this is bigger than him, surprising even himself with his reactions.

The introvert, the extrovert, the "loudmouth", the wall flower. They were all there in youth. They are all there in life now. They will all open to possibility when challenged to learn. As adults we have learned to close our minds but fortunately, we CAN all learn to open them again, to limitless possibilities. Our fundamental life purpose is a search for answers, to always question and continue to learn. Our youth can teach us so much, they are still open to different thoughts, ideas and possibilities. If we can all learn to open to something new or "out of the norm", the expected, we can change the world.

It's time to embrace your our child and gobble up knowledge, considering the different, the things outside the norm, the possible. If we can open our minds to positive mindset and energy, continuing to learn, we change the world. Our youth can show us the way to limitless possibilities.
